Inspired by LED displays, Ticker has a technological precision. Though the modular character of the elements suggests digital displays, the letters are carefully crafted, spaced, and kerned: they offer the feel of older or simpler technology, but they are more polished and functional than common, crude pixel fonts. In addition to electronic signage, the typeface evokes video games, Lite-Brite toys, ceramic tile signage, marquee lights, or vintage tickertape.
